The StoryHow It All Began
Henry and Jackie Jones, the owners of Roadshow Antiques was inspired by Henry’s hometown, Staffordshire, England; a well known antiquing hot spot. He grew up with an appreciation for antiques and crafts as his family had worked and studied in the arts. Henry’s mother was a skilled crafts woman in the booming pottery industry and his two sisters studied at the historic, Wedgewood School of Arts.
Henry came to Canada in 1970 and became extremely interested in pursuing antiques as a serious career. Determined to make it into a full time business, he became a certified member of the CPPA (Canadian Personal Property Appraisers Group), a member of the Auctioneers Association of Ontario and had the opportunity to travel across Canada with the British Artiques Roadshow.
In recent years, he was commissioned to create and consult on several antique malls / markets throughout Ontario. After working on all those successful projects, Henry partnered up with his wife, Jackie, and made the jump to open Roadshow Antiques. The markets were so popular; they expanded throughout the years to three successful locations, the latest addition being at Pickering Markets.
