Mario’s First Aid Zone is in aisle L, booth 2300, located right across from the information booth. It’s pretty hard not to notice the charming and charismatic owner, Mario of Mario’s First Aid Zone.
Not only is Mario the social butterfly of the main aisle, but he is an encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to First Aid and First Aid products. The First Aid Zone has had long time roots at The Pickering Markets and developed into a favorite vendor among our regular customers throughout the years.
The First Aid Zone started 30 years ago and it wasn’t until 1998 when Mario started to run the business. Previous to the First Aid zone, Mario was a iron worker by trade and later on retired. It was during that time, the opportunity to own the First Aid Zone came about and he thought it would be a great business to run during his retirement. So in 1998, Mario took over the business and Mario’s First Aid Zone was born.
Along with the social butterfly title, Mario is the Market’s resident “paramedic” and is always recommending different products to help, especially when food court vendors need assistance. It’s easy to say that First Aid Kits are important, but when it comes to investing in first aid kits, it can be costly and quite expensive depending on where you go. The beauty about the First Aid Zone is that, from the basic first aid kits for domestic use to the legal workmen compensation kits are extremely affordable compared to high retail prices available at other location. Yet, each kit still maintains the highest quality, as the kits are made once a month and can last to as long as 3 years. His regular customers range from athletics, students to hockey & basketball coaches purchasing products for the entire team.
The topic of safety and first aid is no laughing matter to Mario and it is important for him to help every customer he can, whether it is by recommending certain products to greeting each person walking by his booth with a great big smile.
Pickering Markets is not your typical Flea Market; we are the largest multicultural indoor marketplace in Ontario!
