Throughout his career, Ryan has seen a variety of market conditions- it sure can be a rollercoaster ride! So, what are his tips for the 2017 housing market?
1.) In the last 3-4 months, there has been a bit of a cooling off period. After the government announced a plan in April to try and slow the housing market, we saw a spike in new listings and the number of sales go down, which gave buyers more options.
2.) Buyers, don’t wait too long! If you are interested in buying real estate this year, it’s best to start seriously looking RIGHT NOW!! We are expecting by the time fall comes around, the market will be on the rise again, so get in while you can!
3.) Sellers, don’t panic. Although we are experiencing a lower number of sales, overall, housing prices are still up compared to this time last year. Choosing a full-time Real Estate Professional who is experienced in adjusting to changing conditions is ESSENTIAL. You will need to employ the proper strategies to ensure you still get top dollar for your home.
4.) The east end is trending. Ryan has been noticing many of the buyers are coming from quite the long way to look at the opportunities in Durham. As far as, Mississauga, Oakville, and farther; people are flocking to the eastside because Durham is affordable and offers much more house for the price.
5.) First time buyers – Get an agent! Many people who are looking to buy for the first time, don’t know that there is no charge to hire a Real Estate Agent during the buying process. There are a lot of details when it comes to buying any kind of property and that’s why it’s important to have a Real Estate Professional like Ryan to find exactly what you love, and at the same time, protect your interests and investment. We are here to take you step by step through a seemingly overwhelming process.
Ryan is much more than just a knowledgeable and experienced Real Estate Broker. He is long-time resident of Durham Region and well known in his community.
